About The Listening Booth
The Listening Booth is a coffee shop, music venue and multi-purpose space in Lewes, DE. It serves as a haven for music, musicians and culture appreciators looking to be entertained, build community and support original art.
Customers have a fully immersive experience with espresso and coffee drinks, grab and go pastries and snacks, wine and beer, and light bites brought in from local vendor partners all while enjoying original music from local and national touring acts. In addition, the modular space is used for classes, workshops, parties and other rental opportunities. The coffee shop will be an excellent addition to the Lewes community, filling an essential service for those who live there.

It is owned and operated by Marissa Levy Lerer, a seasoned executive, technologist, marketing expert and singer/songwriter. She has over two decades working in the tech and digital marketing world as a graphic designer, programer and executive. As a songwriter, Marissa has toured all over the country and abroad, releasing 3 albums. Her music has been heard on television shows and movies and she has shared the stage with musicians such as Lisa Loeb, Matt Nathanson and Gavin Degraw. Marissa is an influencer, able to convince others that what she likes, they should like as well. She moved to Southern Delaware from Brooklyn and she noticed a large gap in the original music scene when trying to book gigs for herself in Lewes and Rehoboth. She was met with resistance from the “cover only” music scene. Marissa is passionate about creating a musical home not just for the people of Southern Delaware but for herself and other musicians as well.

The Listening Booth opens with a series of pre-launch concerts. In partnership with The Rehoboth Film Society and The Cinema Art Theater, The Listening Booth will curate one show per month with local and national touring artists.
The Listening Booth will continue the pre-launch series with The Cinema Art Theater as well we smaller events such as songwriter's night and open mic nights at various locations around Lewes.
The Listening Booth is expected to open in their own dedicated space by 2024. This space will be a full time coffee shop with a bar and light bites in the evening as well as music and entertainment events 3-6 nights per week.
