Piano
Tim York
Tim York has been tickling the ivories since age seven and has only taken a few short pauses for snack breaks and the occasional reboot of his creative hard drive. With over 35 years of piano experience under his belt (and probably a few piano bench splinters too), he’s played it all: church services, vocal classes, awkward holiday parties, and most recently, served as musical director for a local theater production where no one forgot their cue… mostly. His roots in high school music and theater set the stage (literally) for a lifetime of playing, accompanying, and occasionally making up notes when the sheet music went flying.
Now, Tim’s ready to pass on his piano superpowers to the next generation. Whether you’re a total beginner or someone who just wants to impress your cat with Chopin, he brings patience, humor, and a deep love of music to every lesson. His goal? Help students find their rhythm, stay sharp (and flat), and of course have fun while learning the keys to success, one note at a time.

Piano
Scott Schoem
Scott Schoem is an accomplished Sussex County piano teacher who has been fostering an appreciation of music through piano lessons for over 20 years. He teaches students of all ages.
Scott has performed as a professional musician in the DC area for nearly 30 years at venues such as Blues Alley, 9:30 Club, the Fillmore (Silver Spring, MD), the State Theatre (Falls Church, VA) and the Kennedy Center. Now a resident of Lewes, DE, you can find Scott playing keyboards locally with several different bands.
Each student is an individual, and Scott caters to their interests and strengths to develop their musical abilities. Musical styles taught include classical, rock, pop, blues, etc.

Fred toured nationally, opening for iconic acts like Twisted Sister and Missing Persons, and spent years performing at weddings, clubs, private events, and corporate functions.
Fred remains active in the music industry today and brings real-world performance insight into his teaching. In addition to coaching, Fred is also a recording engineer, helping students understand not just how to play and sing—but how to sound great in live and studio settings.
Fred's teaching style is personalized, supportive, and rooted in real-world experience. Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals and musical interests, focusing on strong fundamentals, confidence, creativity, and practical performance skills.

Drums
David Wuttke
David Wuttke is a drummer originally from Wilmington DE. Ever since trying to start a band in middle school with friends, he has found great joy in playing music. Originally taught the basics by his father, David went on to further his learning by playing throughout high school under a band teacher with a doctorate in music. He has over 10 plus years of experience playing, including playing in Europe as a part of a symphonic band, and has gotten to play alongside now lifelong friends that were a part of competing marching bands. He loves playing classic rock, punk, metal, and emo songs, and is always happy to discuss music with people.
For the last two years, David has been teaching, spreading his love of drumming and music to musicians of all ages and is ready to continue that journey here at The Listening Booth. His students will build strong fundamentals through his lessons, so that they can apply their knowledge to wherever their music journey takes them.
