About The Event
Don McCloskey is a Philadelphia-based singer-songwriter, producer, and electrifying live performer whose music defies easy categorization. Blending elements of Americana, folk, soul, rock, psychedelic pop, and singer-songwriter traditions, McCloskey has built a career on fearless songwriting, infectious melodies, and performances that are as emotionally moving as they are musically adventurous. Critics have compared the spirit of his work to the eclectic craftsmanship of Paul Simon, the working-class humor of John Prine, and the sonic ambition of Peter Gabriel.
His acclaimed fourth album, The Chaos and the Beauty, was produced with Devin Greenwood (Norah Jones, Sufjan Stevens) and recorded to analog tape in Brooklyn, creating a lush, retro-contemporary sound that weaves together psych-rock, Americana, soul, and pop. The album's breakout single, "First in Flight," was featured in the Season 2 finale of Apple TV+'s Mythic Quest, has been streamed millions of times, and earned placement on Spotify editorial playlists.
