About The Event
Louis Apollon (Louie Lou Louis) is a Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter known for his warm presence and infectious positivity. Born and raised in the suburbs of New York City by parents of Haitian descent, he experienced a rich mix of cultures from a very young age. Music has always sparked his curiosity—from learning his way around his first instrument, the clarinet, imitating sounds from the radio, to breaking his father's old record player while trying to scratch records. It was very common for him to hear sounds from around the world on a daily basis, and those influences continue to shape the music he makes today.
His professional career began in Chicago, Illinois, where he worked in the advertising industry after earning a business degree from the University of Notre Dame. Though he remained in that field for four years, he realized he was constantly seeking out opportunities to create and perform…
