About The Event

Cliff Hillis is an award winning singer/songwriter based in the Philadelphia area whose music evokes the sunny pop of the 70’s and has garnered national radio airplay. Hillis has co-written with critically acclaimed songwriters such as Rhett Miller, Aaron Lee Tasjan, Kelley Ryan and Dan Bern.

Tracks from the new album "Be The Now" have been getting airplay on Triple A radio stations such as 88.5 WXPN, 89.7 WTMD and 90.5 The Night.

When he’s not recording and producing albums for himself and others in his studio, Hillis also tours with various bands including Smash Palace, David Uosikkinen’s “In The Pocket”, Patty Smyth as well as The Orchestra (featuring former E.L.O. members).

“You know who's really good? Cliff Hillis.”

— Rhett Miller (singer/songwriter Old 97's)

“I LOVE this! You two sound terrific together & what a great song.”

— Legendary producer & songwriter Don Dixon (in reaction to the Kelley Ryan co-write "Good Morning and Goodnight")

(skribe plays a canjo-bouzoukie) ------------------------ Skribe plays an oil can called a canjo-zookie. It’s an eight-string guitar with a biting, blues-y rasp. Skribe’s got the voice (and the old-school Cadillac) to match. Accompanying himself on the suitcase-kick and hi-hat, Skribe’s “M.I.Y.” is a barn-burning roots number.    - Ben Naddaff-Hafrey NPR 2020 Baltimore Alternative Music Award - Best Packaging for Birdwatching 7" 2018 - ‘Common Ground’ at #245 for WTMD Radio’s BEST songs 03-’18. 2016 Rammie Award - Best Opening Act - Rams Head Onstage
