Singer-songwriter Susan Werner may be one of the most ambitious and versatile artists on the acoustic circuit. From her concept albums in a dizzying array of styles, her score for Bull Durham, The Musical (based on the MGM film), to her killer live shows, sheâs a veritable Swiss Army Knife of talents. With covers by artists as varied as Tom Jones, Shemekia Copeland and Michael Feinstein, her compositions range from the reverent to the hard-rocking, and her formidable keyboard chops early on earned her a guest spot on Marian McPartlandâs NPR Piano Jazz. Add a stand up comedianâs wit and timing, and you begin to get an idea why Susan Werner is one of the most in demand performers working today.
